Overview
The only thing that Terminal.app gives me is tabs. Screen gives me tabs, keyboard scrollback, split windows, and saved detached sessions. Sadly, I found that the screen that comes with OS X does not support 256 colors. Starting with this article GNU/Screen with 256 colours in Mac OS X, I built GNU Screen as follows. The Kerberos subsystem has been included in macOS since its initial launch in March 2001. It has evolved along with macOS over time.

Kerberos is configured for Stanford in a file that is user-installed in /Library/Preferences/edu.mit.Kerberos. It's a somewhat non-standard file name that has been a part of macOS since the beginning. Learn more about Kerberos on macOS and Kerberos at Stanford.
